August is Get Ready for Kindergarten Month

If your child will be starting Kindergarten in the fall, now is a good time to talk to them about what to expect. There are lots of books that you can check out at the library about starting Kindergarten. If possible, it's a good idea to visit their school, take a walk by the school and/or play on their playground to help your child get used to the new environment. If your child will be riding the bus, it's ideal if they could get a practice bus ride before that first day. Also, remember to adjust your summer schedule to reflect their new school schedule. Finally, relax! It's a change for everyone in the family and a big milestone for your child, but they'll do great!
